I made my own changing pad too!
This probably didn’t save me any money at all. I’m learning that fabric isn’t cheap. I’m learning how to cut fabric the right way so that I don’t waste too much. Both lessons I really learned because of this project. Ask my husband – I got way too frustrated with this one. Blame it on the hormones. Blame it on the fact that I had just messed up the baby’s quilt. Blame it on the fact that I didn’t work on this until I was already too tired. Bad combination of all kinds of things!
But eventually, it got done. Okay, it’s mostly done. I need to install the elastic that keeps it tight on there, but I’ll do that soon once I buy the right size (another mistake I made!)
Here’s the tutorial that I used from Prudent Baby. It was pretty easy to follow, so I recommend it. Now that I’ve done one, I could easily do another in less than an hour.
Here’s my changing pad cover:
(Does anyone really use the strap? I’m seriously considering cutting them off.)
