Had my 28 week check up with Baby #3 (still unnamed!) earlier this week. Another quick appointment.
- I’m up 17 pounds. Disappointed with this since that’s higher than my other 2 pregnancies and higher than I remembered.
- Heartbeat is in the 140s.
- Movement is strong (despite being told the placenta is anterior (in the front), this baby moves quite strongly!)
- Measuring right on track.
I had to do the 1 hour gestational diabetes test which was totally fine for me. I drank it, didn’t feel bad, gave blood at the right time. No news is good news. EXCEPT…they called tonight. I “didn’t pass” by 1 point. You need to be under 140 to skip the 3 hour test and I came in at 140. So, Monday, I get to go in and take the 3 hour test. Lovely.
Work was totally fine about it, but that will be my 3rd day “missing work” to some degree. Today (Thursday), I worked from home because we had a new water heater installed. Tomorrow (Friday), I’ll be working from home because we’re having a new furnace installed. And now on Monday, I’ll work as much as I can while sitting in the hospital lab waiting area, just waiting for the times where I need to give blood again. I do fine working from home in a pinch, but sometimes, it’s just easier to talk to people face-to-face. In my job anyway.
I also have a bad cough. That’s been going on for a week now and keeping me awake at night. It got to the point where I was sleeping on the couch for a couple of nights to a) not wake up Jeff with my hacking and b) have some thing more sturdy to cough against and c) hope that sleeping upright would help. It wasn’t really helping. So I got a series of antibiotics. I think it’s helping, but it’s day 3 and it’s still not gone. IRG!
