Last month, we went to look at a house that was for sale, even though we weren’t really looking to move. Great location, but not the right house for us. And not at the right time.
No big deal. But one of the things we realized is that any future house would need the ability to store a lot of STUFF. Or we would need to do a lot of purging.
Boy clothes til Phinehas is 5 years old.
Toys that he’ll likely play with in a year or two.
Enough diapers to diaper the next 3 babies! (Lord willing!)
Tubs and tubs of books that I’ve collected over the years.
A twin bed that someday will be used in a kid’s room.
A hand-me-down double bed in the guest room.
Living room furniture in the family room upstairs.
Two couches and a big chair in the basement, along with a different kitchen table.
Storage for canned goods, cereals, personal care items and toiletries bought at a bargain.
It all adds up.
But I want to get rid of some of it. But it seems a tad bit overwhelming. So I’ve broken it down to a list. And I’ll tackle an item a week for the next many, many weeks. If I accomplish 2 items a week, great! If I accomplish only the one that I’ve set out to do, then great! Either way, it feels good to have a plan!
Last week, it was putting together the toy storage unit. This week, it’s learning how to sew button holes onto some of Jeff’s dress shirts.
Anyone want a double bed? It’s free!
