Somewhere, back in my head, I think you’re only a real woman if you can sew. I can’t sew. (But I’m going to try.) But somewhere deeper in my head, I know you can be a real woman even if all your clothes come from the mall and even if you have your grandmother help you sew a halloween costume and even if you have to borrow a needle from your sister in order to sew a button back on.
But what can I do if I can’t sew? I can recover a chair! Jeff & I have a itty bitty kitchen. I love it. Perfect size for 2 of us. We had problems, however, finding a table and chairs that would actually fit in the tinsey winsey kitchen. Jeff’s sister-in-law, Becky, found a set for us! They were a friend of hers that just wanted to get rid of a table and it’s 4 chairs. So, we took em!
The seat cushions weren’t in the best condition, so I had determined to re-cover them. I went to the fabric store, picked out some fabric and got to work. By far, the hardest part of the project was taking off the old fabric — so many staples! But I got it done! And I like the results. All for $3.13 in fabric!
