The last few months, I’ve kind of had it in my head that we should move. There are thousands of reasons why we shouldn’t (money!), but I’ve been mentally toying with the idea of “What if we did move? What would that look like?” I’ve been feeding these thoughts with looking at houses online — you know “just to see what’s out there…”
But since Finn’s been crawling, I’m staying put. Happily so. I kind of thought that this house would be pretty baby friendly, but now I know it is. This house is naturally baby friendly. And I love it!
It’s a ranch with a mostly finished basement. Thus, we only have 1 set of stairs to deal with. And those stairs are blocked off by shutting the door to the basement. Close that door and then Finn can have free reign of the house! We don’t have to have any baby gates or anything.
The timing of this is perfect. I posted before that there was a house just a block away from my sister’s house that’s for sale. Still is. As tempting as that one is, there’s another house for sale in her neighborhood. This time it’s just 2 doors down! It’s priced well. It’s a floor plan that we’d like. It has the 2 car garage that we want. It’s 2 doors down from my sister. It has the 2 bathrooms that we want. It’s in the school district that we want. It’s just 2 doors down from my sister! But we’re just not ready yet. We have no mortgage and buying this house at this time would mean a mortgage.
So we’re staying put. Not even going to take a tour of it. I used to be merely resigned to the fact that we aren’t moving, but now I’m quite happily content with it!
