I declare…
…That I have a very happy baby!
(Well, he’s usually very happy, but he does have his not-as-happy moments.) But generally, this kid is all smiles – if you’re smiling at him! This is him just tonight with me accusing him of drooling all over the mattress. Life of a teether. (And I was causing a mini-baby earthquake by shaking the mattress – that’s the shakiness you see.)
…That I have a thumb sucker!
This certainly wasn’t taught to him (I don’t think). But it’s a recent habit…he wasn’t even a pacifier baby (never cared for it, not that we didn’t try), but the last couple of weeks, I’ve been catching him sucking his thumb. You can see it in the video above too.
…That I have a crawler!
A very tentative one, but a crawler none-the-less! For several weeks now, he’s been able to get up on all fours. And in the last 2 weeks, he’s rocked back and forth quite a bit, but this is the first time I’ve been able to say “Yes, this! This was an official crawl!” (Yes, he was helped out by the blankets on the bed. I get that. I’m still excited!)
Many moms have told me “Be careful what you wish for!” because it will radically change our lives, but I think it’s just wonderful! One of the best parts of parenting (so far) has been seeing my son learn and discover things. So, yes, this will radically change our lives, but that’s because it will radically change his life!
…That I love being a mother!
